The Best Instant Pots and Multi-Cookers on Amazon (2026)

Quick Take
For most kitchens, the Instant Pot Pro 6-quart is the right answer in 2026: stainless inner pot, real sear function, quieter steam release, and the broadest recipe-app ecosystem of any multi-cooker still in production. First-time owners and people replacing an aging Duo land here without regret.
The categories worth knowing past that: if you want pressure cooking AND air frying in one footprint, the Duo Crisp lineup is the only Instant Pot model that does both well. If you cook for 5+ people or batch-meal-prep, step up to an 8-quart Ninja Foodi. And if budget is the top constraint, the older Duo or Duo Plus 6-quart still does 90% of what the Pro does for less.

The multi-cooker category has narrowed a lot since the Instant Pot boom of the late 2010s. Several mid-tier brands have exited, Instant Brands itself went through bankruptcy and restructuring, and the SKUs that remain are the ones with real install bases and replacement-part pipelines.
That is actually good news for a 2026 buyer. The remaining lineup is shorter, the meaningful differences between models are clearer, and the decision usually comes down to four questions: size, air-fry yes or no, stainless or coated inner pot, and how much you want to spend.
Who this guide is for
Anyone choosing their first Instant Pot, replacing a 5-to-8-year-old unit whose sealing ring has finally given up, or deciding whether a Ninja Foodi or other multi-cooker makes more sense than another Instant Pot. The picks below skip the discontinued Smart WiFi line and any model without active parts availability.
Size: 6-quart vs 8-quart vs 3-quart
6-quart is the default for a reason. It fits a standard whole chicken, a 3-pound chuck roast, or a pound of dry beans with headroom, and it lives on the counter without dominating it. Households of 1-4 people are almost always best served here.
8-quart makes sense if you regularly batch-cook for the week, host often, or want to pressure-can (note: only the Pro Plus and a couple of Ninja models are USDA-aligned for canning, and even then with caveats). The 8qt footprint is noticeably bigger and takes longer to come to pressure.
3-quart units exist for single-person apartments and as a second pot for side dishes. Skip unless you have a specific reason; you will outgrow it.
Stainless inner pot vs nonstick coated
Standard Instant Pot models (Duo, Duo Plus, Pro) ship with a stainless steel inner pot. It survives metal utensils, the dishwasher, and decades of use. The Duo Crisp and Ninja Foodi air-fry hybrids use coated pots because the air-fry function needs a non-stick surface for cleanup. Those coatings wear out in 2-5 years of regular use and need replacing.
If long-life is the top priority and you do not need air frying, stay with a stainless model. Replacement coated pots are available but get pricey.
Do you actually need air fry?
The Duo Crisp and Ninja Foodi pressure-cook AND air-fry in one footprint, which saves real counter space if you would otherwise own both. The tradeoff: the air-fry lid is heavy, takes drawer space when not in use, and the basket capacity is smaller than a dedicated air fryer of similar claimed quart rating.
If you already own a separate air fryer, a plain Instant Pot Pro is the better buy. If you are starting from scratch in a small kitchen, the Duo Crisp is a legitimate one-appliance answer.
Instant Pot vs Ninja Foodi
Instant Pot has the bigger recipe-app ecosystem and the longer track record on parts. Ninja Foodi tends to win on air-fry performance and build feel at the top of the lineup. For pressure cooking alone, both are fine; the Pro edges out on quieter venting and sear power.
For batch cooks who want an 8-quart with strong air-fry, the Ninja Foodi 8-quart is the cleaner buy than the equivalent Instant Pot. For everyone else, Instant Pot's parts ecosystem is the deciding factor.
What to skip
Avoid: the Smart WiFi Bluetooth lineup (orphaned app, discontinued), Crockpot Express and most Crockpot-branded pressure cookers (slow steam release, weak sealing-ring availability), and any deeply discounted no-name multi-cooker on Amazon. The category rewards brands with real parts pipelines, and unbranded units are a 2-year appliance at best.
Parts and longevity
Plan to replace the silicone sealing ring every 1-2 years (it absorbs smells, especially after chili and curry phases). Keep a spare on hand. Inner pots last 5+ years on stainless models, 2-5 on coated. The base unit itself typically goes 7-10 years before the heating element or pressure sensor starts misbehaving.

Instant Pot Pro 6-Quart 10-in-1 Multi-Cooker
★★★★★4.5 from 14,096 Amazon reviews
“Admittedly, I am a Ninja fan, and have been using a Ninja Foodi OL700 for the last 3 years. I have loved the versatility of this pressure cooker since it has only one lid and functions include Steam and Cook, Broiling, and so much more. Alas, my beloved pressure cooker has been giving me an error message that, according to customer service, indicates the circuit board is going. Although I will continue to use it, I know it is dying and have been on a mission to find a replacement for it. Since the available Ninja Pressure Cookers have 2 lids, I don't want to have to store a separate lid.”

“I love this product! It has made my life so much easier. It has multi functions so I use it to saute, then pressure cook my meals. I've also used the porridge function and my food turns out beautifully. It is easy to clean, easy to operate, and I love that I can focus on making other parts of dinner while the main dish is cooking, stress free! And the size is perfect for my husband and I. Highly recommend.”

“I received my Instant Pot right before the end of the year as I had pre-ordered it. I had done a good amount of research on the previous model and was convinced it could replace my small slow cooker as well as diversify my cooking and reduce my time in the kitchen. The main improvements I liked on this model over the previous model was the holder for the lid on both sides of the handles of the pot, the larger display, and the main improvement I was interested in was the dual pressure setting (mainly comes in handy for veggies for me).”

Instant Pot Duo Crisp 11-in-1 with Air Fryer Lid
★★★★★4.7 from 7,376 Amazon reviews
“My Ninja finally died. Got to researching a replacement. This "Instant Pot Pro" had the highest rating, and the price was reasonable for the quart size, and the many features this product has for cooking! I was amazed how heavy this is which tells me it is well built! I am very impressed with the quality of all aspects & including the components! It cooks very well. One example was the saute' mode. The heat produced was 5x hotter than my previous Ninja which made the process very fast. The controls (different from my Ninja) but once learned very easy to use. Highly recommend, get one!”

“I was introduced to traditional pressure cooking in the late 80's when visiting relatives in Florida. I began considering the purchase of an "Instant Pot' a couple of years ago. I finally decided to purchase the 'Instant Pot' when treatment of a medical condition took up several hours every other day.”

“This was a replacement for an IP which was damaged. I decided, even though I have another air fryer/toaster oven combo, to upgrade to this because I LOVE hot wings and they always make a huge mess in my other AF. This unit with its air fryer component keeps the mess contained and does a great job of getting the wings nice and crispy with no fat ridges on it and has really upped my wings to another level. It's not big enough to do bacon or a bunch of other things but specifically for those of us who LOVE hot wings, it is my new go to. Easy to clean too which my other AF is not.”

Instant Pot Duo Plus 6-Quart 9-in-1 Multi-Cooker
★★★★☆4.4 from 5,037 Amazon reviews
“My new favorite. Easy to use menu. Stainless steel pot. Cooking times are perfect. I cook for a lot of family and the 8 quart can handle it. You can literally cook two different dishes, like beans and then the chicken for dinner one after another in about 1.5 hours and feed a lot of people. Well built, easy to use, easy to clean and the steam release works well. There is still some noise, but its a lot quieter than my old one.”

“This thing is absolutely a lifesaver. I have been cooking in this since I have received it and it has been nothing but fantastic. So far I've just done ground turkey a 3 lb turkey breast and six to 7 lb chicken and it has come out so tender and juicy and perfectly done. Great investment! I would definitely recommend this one.”

“It is great! Much better than our old one. Stainless steel liner can go in the dishwasher. Multifunctional allow several different cooking methods as well as pressure. Hard boiled eggs come out great and the shells peal easily.”
